How did it all start...
From a young age athletics and sports has always been a big part of my life. My parents put me in rec league when I was about 4 years old and from there I fell in love with the sport. I tried out other things growing up like gymnastics, rock climbing, and karate but soccer was the most consistent one in my life. Although I didn't carry this passion into college with me, I've continued to keep myself active by running and lifting.

My Running Journey
The transition from soccer player to runner is a pretty common one, and if you’re guessing that’s the route I took, you’d be completely right. I always had a love-hate relationship with running, and once I got to college, I wanted to change that. So, my roommate and I committed to signing up for a half marathon our junior year, which meant training started in the spring of sophomore year. I’d be lying if I said I loved it right away, it was definitely an adjustment. But fast-forward to now, and I’ve completed three half marathons, with no plans of stopping anytime soon. The video to the left is from my first race this semester, where my roommate and I both hit personal records and got to ring the PR bell together, a moment I’ll never forget.

My Lifting Journey
I started going to CrossFit with my dad when I was really young. I’d roll in straight from soccer practice—uniform, shin guards, soccer socks and all—and jump right into lifting beside him. Not only did it make me feel strong, but it became something that brought us closer, which I’ve always loved. From that point on, it was our thing. All through high school we kept up the routine, and now whenever I’m home for breaks, we pick things right back up like we never missed a day. It's one of my favorite little traditions.
